Johnson Remodeling Project: The Plan

January 14, 2010

The Johnsons have always loved the location of their house on the outskirts of Cary, NC, but they could never say the same about the actual house.  They have have dreamed of remodeling it to suit their lifestyle since the day they bought it over 20 years ago.  After working with TrendMark to carefully go over every detail of their wish list, the plan is now in place and we are ready begin the construction phase.

This remodel will include the entire first floor, including the living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, hall bathroom and laundry room.   We will also add a large screen porch to the rear of the home.  Below are  the before pictures with details of  the project plans.  The homeowner’s main objective of the project is to transform the downstairs into an open area that will create the perfect environment for entertaining family and friends.  We will keep you posted as the project progresses.

This kitchen remodel relocated almost all of the room’s features and includes:

• Custom painted glazed raised panel cabinetry accented with columns, corbels and glass lighted cabinets at the ceiling.

• Honed marble countertops, and bronze hardware add to the elegance of the area.

• An enlarged island houses the undermounted copper sink and bronze faucet.

• Travertine backsplash with picture frame insert and wall mount pot filler complement the stainless steel range.

BEFORE

The existing 80′s kitchen featured white melamine cabinets, green laminate countertops, white appliances, and the every famous Ivy wallpaper.

Here is what the homeowner thinks for the final project:

“We are very satisfied with our beautiful end result and have loved all of the lovely comments received from friends, family and neighbors.  As a daily cook I am very happy and thankful for my new, highly efficient and beautiful kitchen.  This entire project has truly enriched our lives.  We will only entrust one remodel contractor with any future projects and that is Mr. Wallace Maker of TrendMark Inc. Thank you!” – Homeowner, Cary, NC
